Five from the north, one samba for a name

Nascimento — Jazz Quintet

Hovav Ben Saadia · Ron Klein · Yariv Domani · Ofir Tal · Eran Shoham

The band

Nascimento is a jazz quintet of veteran musicians working in the north of Israel, each active across many bands and styles. The band grew out of one shared love — jazz.

We play mostly classic jazz — tunes played by Wes Montgomery, Art Blakey, Chet Baker and others — with bossa nova, touches of modern rhythm and original pieces. Not only for the genre's devotees.

A Barry Harris samba, "Nascimento", gave us the name.

Since 2019 we've played Tivon, Carmiel, Ein Harod, Alon HaGalil and Hazorea — and in June 2023 represented Kiryat Tivon at the Night of Culture in Braunschweig, Germany.
